University Strengths

We are committed to supporting all our students in reaching their goals and realizing their dreams. We understand the importance and value of upholding integrity on an administrative level while maintaining a friendly and enjoyable learning environment.

UEWM offers a solid education in TCM by selecting highly experienced and knowledgeable instructors who are dedicated to their teaching profession and to students’ learning. Our university offers a combination of lecture and clinical internship for students to master and establish their learning. Our faculty members are selected for their professional education, clinical and teaching experience, and dedication to education and development of TCM. Academic classes in the TCM core program and clinical training are typically taught by practicing professionals who have an average of twenty years of clinical experience.

Our intensive didactic and clinical training guarantees the high level of competency and confidence our graduates need. UEWM graduates achieve high passing scores in both the California State Licensing exam and the National Certification exam.

UEWM offers study abroad program and exchanges activities with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, AnHui College of Chinese Medicine and Hei Long Jiang Chinese Medicine University . Our study abroad program with these universities offers an opportunity to study with masters in the heart of the culture that gave this medicine birth. The University is associated with the Alliance of International Health and Healing to promote health and healing.

UEWM offers certificate specialty program in Asian Bodywork Therapist and Continuing Education Courses(CEU) approved by the California Acupuncture Board. CEU enable graduates and licensed practitioners to keep up with the latest trends and current research in the field.

We also offer flexible tuition payment plan, where the installments are interest-free and the loans program are also available upon request.

We offer a flexible schedule with day, evening and weekend classes in both English and Chinese for either full- time or part-time students. The full-time program takes approximately 3 years and the part-time program takes about 8 years for completion. Many students may take classes as a non-degree program, where you can learn the knowledge and skills to improve the quality of health for you and your family. Our school offers a Rolling admissions policy, which begins in the months of January, May, and September of each year.

We network with hospitals and medical centers with acupuncture programs for employment opportunities for our graduates. Our graduates continually receive benefits such as clinic treatments and Continuing Education seminars required by the California Acupuncture Board for licensed practitioners.

Our student body is made up of students from all age groups and various cultural and ethnic backgrounds . Our student body consists of medical doctors, Chiropractors, nurses, physical therapists, massage therapists, engineers, school teachers, artists, dental hygienists, lawyers, pharmacists, waiters, as well as people who just finished two years of college without any medical background.

Our class size is small enough for you to get individualized attention, thus helping you assimilate the subject matter, yet big enough to allow for stimulating group interactions.

The University is professionally feng shui-designed to provide a quiet and focused study environment. The University is easily accessible from major freeways, highways, and public transportation; parking in the University lot is free.

We are located near downtown Sunnyvale , California , in the heart of Silicon Valley . Sunnyvale is one of the safest cities in the U.S. with year-round sunshine and high-quality neighborhood environments. Sunnyvale is close to great beaches and beautiful mountains. According to KTSF/Channel 26 and WorldJournal newspaper, Sunnyvale is one of the top ten cities in the nation noted for its beautiful surroundings.
