Cost of Living
Sunnyvale is located in Santa Clara County , about 10 miles west of San Jose and 50 miles south of San Francisco . Sunnyvale has a scenic setting nestled within the hustle-and-bustle of Silicon Valley , all the while providing some of the most affordable housing this region has to offer. Apartments abound; rents range from $450 to $1,000+. Its residential areas are clean and pleasant, and housing prices are moderate. With more than 13 city parks, Sunnyvale is a wonderful place to live.
Housing
Although the University does not provide on-campus housing, the city of Sunnyvale and the neighboring communities of Santa Clara , Cupertino and Mountain View have extensive rental apartments and housing in all price ranges. The University is also within commuting distance from a number of other residential communities including Los Altos , Saratoga , Campbell , San Jose , Milpitas and Fremont .
The University bears no responsibility in finding or assisting students in finding housing. The University does, however, maintain a bulletin board for students in communicating opportunities for shared housing or for other community and professional listings.
