Acupuncture Program
Cupertino
175 hours
Includes 100 hours of anatomy, physiology, and hygiene, plus at least 75 hours of demonstration and practice of massage techniques.
Diploma or certificate of completion of course work recognized by national professional massage or body therapy organizations and approved by the State of California (no correspondence courses allowed).
Fremont
500 hours
Instruction at a certified school of massage
OR:
Passage (75% +) of a written/oral test and a practical performance examination on anatomy, physiology, clinical pathology, theory and practice of massage, preparation of the subject, and full body massage techniques.
Los Gatos
Certificate of training (any amount of hours), plus statement (on letterhead) from doctor, chiropractor, physical therapist, or L.Ac. for whom you will be working.
Mountain View
200 hours for a Massage Practitioner
Diploma or certificate of graduation from a recognized school.
Instruction in: theory, ethics, history, practice, method, profession, anatomy, physiology, and health practices.
OR:
500 hours for a Therapeutic Massage Practitioner.
Verifiable hours of instruction in the massage specialty and /or therapeutic approach at a recognized school
AND passage of the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work, administered by the Psychological Corporation of San Antonio, TX.
San Jose
200 hours, plus health certificate from doctor, negative TB tine test, and police background check.
San Mateo

70 hours, plus approval and permit from the police.
Santa Clara
200 hours, plus health certificate from doctor, police background check, and a chest x-ray showing no signs of tuberculosis. Must have signed petition from neighbors if you plan on working from your residence.

Diploma or certificate of graduation from a recognized school.
Anatomy, physiology, hygiene, sanitation, massage theory, history, ethics, and practice.
OR:
200 hours of above training plus at least 100 hours of documented experience under direct supervision of a licensed massage practitioner or other licensed health professional.
Sunnyvale
500 hours of non-repetitive instruction.
Diploma, certificate, or transcript from an approved school of massage.
OR:
500 hours of paid, supervised, practical experience, plus 250 hours training
Palo Alto
70 hours of instruction
Diploma, certificate, or written proof from an approved school of massage.
OR:
500 hours of paid, professional experience.
