The University of East-West Medicine offers a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program. DAOM program is a 2-year long program. To graduate a total of 60 units of course work is required, (1230 hours including clinical duty). Students must complete all the required general courses and specialty courses.
The general courses are 30 units (540 hours), including 8 high-level theory classes and three hands-on training courses. Those courses are focused on developing students’ comprehensive ability in biomedicine, traditional Chinese medicine research, teaching skills, and the management of medical establishments. The professional courses are 30 units (690 hours), including 8 specialty courses and three hands-on training courses. Currently we open two fields of specialty studies, gynecology and pain management. In the future, we plan to implement oncology and dermatology.
